Stephanie's Story
A Real Love Story
Stephanie attended church, a weekly Bible study, and worked in the children's ministry. When Stephanie found out she was pregnant she was confused, hurt and ashamed. In the midst of her turmoil, Stephanie saw a video piece for RealOptions, an organization she had never heard of before. She recalls, "I know it was a sign from God.” I arrived at RealOptions in need of information, support, and encouragement and found all three. “I went to RealOptions and I had my first ultrasound. As soon as I heard the heartbeat there was no turning back. As soon as I heard the heartbeat it made things real,” she explains. Stephanie had made her decision….

In order to embrace her pregnancy, she needed to conquer her fears. Nelly, her patient advocate, would walk along with her during her pregnancy. They met once a week to talk about her pregnancy and her relationship with God. It was a process but Stephanie got the courage to tell her friends and church family about her pregnancy. She was surprised that everyone was loving and supportive when she told them her news. No rejections, only encouragement. That May, baby Emerson was born. - Stephanie
